Primakara University continues to demonstrate its commitment to community engagement through the implementation of its Community Service Program (Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat/PKM). On Thursday, January 8, 2026, the university once again carried out an educational outreach activity at SMK PGRI 4 Denpasar by organizing a training session titled “Hero-Style Photography and Canva Layout for E-Commerce Promotion.” This program was designed to equip students with practical skills relevant to the growing demands of digital business and online marketing. The training session was delivered by Dharma Prasetya Irawan, S.Sn., M.Sn., a lecturer from Primakara University, who provided comprehensive guidance on the fundamentals of product photography, particularly the hero-style approach. This technique focuses on presenting products in a visually striking and professional manner, making them more appealing and competitive in digital marketplaces. Participants were introduced to essential concepts such as lighting, composition, angle selection, and visual storytelling to enhance the overall quality of product images. In addition to photography techniques, the session also covered the use of Canva as a practical and accessible design tool for creating promotional materials. Students were guided on how to utilize Canva layouts effectively to design visually engaging content that aligns with current e-commerce trends. This included creating product banners, social media posts, and simple marketing visuals that can support online business promotion.
The activity was conducted in an interactive and hands-on format, allowing participants to directly practice the techniques demonstrated during the session. Students showed great enthusiasm as they experimented with taking product photos and designing promotional layouts, while also engaging in discussions and receiving feedback from the instructor.
