Photography Techniques Training to Enhance Students’ Visual Quality

Primakara University carried out a Community Service Program (Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat/PKM) under the theme “Applying Effective Photography Techniques to Improve Visual Quality” at SMK PGRI 2 Badung on December 18, 2025. This initiative reflects the university’s commitment to supporting the development of students’ creative competencies, particularly in the field of visual communication. The session was delivered by Dharma Prasetya Irawan, S.Sn., M.Sn., a lecturer at Primakara University with expertise in photography and visual communication design. During the training, he provided comprehensive insights into both fundamental and practical photography techniques aimed at enhancing students’ visual skills and creativity. The material covered key aspects of photography, including composition, lighting, camera angles, and visual storytelling. Students were guided on how to capture images that are not only aesthetically appealing but also capable of conveying clear and meaningful messages. Emphasis was placed on the importance of visual quality in creating impactful and professional work, especially in today’s digital and creative industries.

In addition to theoretical explanations, the training was conducted in an interactive and hands-on manner. Students were given the opportunity to directly practice the techniques demonstrated, allowing them to gain practical experience and a deeper understanding of the photography process. The active participation and enthusiasm shown by the students contributed to a dynamic and engaging learning environment. Through this program, students are expected to improve their ability to produce high-quality visual content while also developing their creative thinking skills.
