On Saturday, January 31, 2026, the Smart UMKM Team of Primakara University successfully organized a Product Branding & Photography Workshop for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the Sarbagita region. This initiative was designed as a strategic platform to enhance the capacity of MSME actors in strengthening their product identity and improving visual communication strategies in the increasingly competitive digital era. The workshop featured two experienced speakers from Primakara University. Kurniawan Joko Purnomo, a lecturer in Digital Business, delivered a comprehensive session on Product Branding, highlighting the importance of building a strong brand identity, understanding target markets, and creating consistent brand messaging. Meanwhile, Dharma Prasetya Irawan, a lecturer in Visual Communication Design, presented practical techniques in Product Photography, focusing on how to produce visually appealing product images that can effectively support marketing and promotion efforts, particularly on digital platforms.
Throughout the workshop, participants were actively engaged in both theoretical discussions and hands-on practice. They were guided to understand the fundamental principles of branding and visual presentation, as well as how to apply these concepts directly to their own products. The interactive nature of the session allowed MSME participants to explore creative ideas, receive feedback, and improve their skills in presenting their products more professionally. More than just a training session, this activity also served as the initial curation stage to identify selected MSMEs that will receive further intensive mentoring. These selected participants will be supported by Primakara University students as part of the Business and MSME Digitalization course, creating a collaborative learning ecosystem between academia and industry. This mentoring program is expected to provide more in-depth assistance in areas such as digital marketing, branding strategy, and business development. Through this initiative, Primakara University continues to demonstrate its commitment to empowering MSMEs and supporting their transformation in the digital era. By fostering collaboration between lecturers, students, and business actors, the program aims to create sustainable impact and encourage MSMEs to become more adaptive, competitive, and resilient in facing future challenges.
