To strengthen the quality and productivity of lecturers’ scientific publications, the Directorate of Research and Community Engagement (DRPM) of Primakara University organized the Publication Acceleration Workshop “For Fulfilling Special Requirements for Academic Promotion” on Monday, August 24, 2026.
The workshop was designed to provide lecturers with practical guidance on developing a more structured publication strategy, covering the process from identifying research ideas and selecting target journals to preparing manuscripts and submitting articles for publication.
The workshop featured two speakers with expertise in different fields. Ni Made Estiyanti, S.E., M.Si., Ak., Ph.D. delivered the session on Business Economics, while Made Adi Paramartha Putra, S.T., M.T., Ph.D. addressed topics related to Information Technology.
Participants received guidance on publication pathways through SINTA and Scopus, including the development of a realistic timeline from manuscript preparation to publication. They were also encouraged to identify focused, relevant, and publishable research topics that align with academic and journal standards.
The workshop also covered strategies for selecting appropriate target journals and identifying the characteristics of predatory journals. Participants learned about effective scientific manuscript structures as well as the key aspects commonly considered by reviewers when evaluating academic articles.
In addition, the session introduced the submission process and manuscript status tracking through Open Journal Systems (OJS). Participants were also guided in identifying common mistakes that may lead to manuscript rejection and developing individual action plans and timelines to achieve the target of having at least one manuscript ready for submission.
Beyond publication strategies, DRPM Primakara University introduced the Five-Phase Lecturer Publication Mentoring Scheme: Define → Produce → Refine → Review → Submit.
The scheme is designed as an eight-week mentoring framework, guiding lecturers through the process of defining a research topic, producing the manuscript, refining the article, conducting reviews, and preparing the final manuscript for submission to a target journal.
Through this structured workshop and mentoring program, DRPM Primakara University continues to strengthen a productive research and publication culture within the academic community. The initiative is expected not only to support lecturers in fulfilling special requirements for academic promotion but also to encourage the production of high-quality scientific publications that contribute meaningfully to the development of knowledge.

On May 19, 2026, I Gede Putu Krisna Juliharta, S.T., M.T., a lecturer at Primakara University and Chairman of the Bali ICT Volunteers, delivered an educational workshop on the importance of information security and personal data protection in the digital era at Tibubeneng Village. The workshop addressed various topics related to citizen data management, the implementation of Indonesia’s Personal Data Protection Law (PDP Law), and secure strategies for delivering digital-based village services. Participants were encouraged to understand the importance of safeguarding the confidentiality of citizens’ data and the preventive measures needed to reduce the risk of data breaches within village government institutions. Through the collaboration between Primakara University and the Bali ICT Volunteers, this initiative aimed to enhance awareness and strengthen the readiness of village officials in adapting to digital transformation while prioritizing security, accountability, and the protection of community data.
DRPM Primakara University introduced IRIS (Innovation and Research Information System) to support more effective and integrated management of research and community service activities.
